Beergarden is celebrating Oktoberfest through Oct. 3 this year, following the same dates that the festival runs in Munich. In Germany, the mayor traditionally taps the first keg to kick off the festival, something beergarden is shadowing as well.

“Eugene Mayor Lucy Vinis will pour the first boot of beer this year,” their website reads.

Beergarden will offer commemorative glassware from the event. There will be special events such as stein hoisting and live music throughout the festival. The foodtrucks at beergarden will have German themed specials, like schnitzel and bavarian pretzels, while the festival lasts.
