Junction City cross-country runner Lola Esplin is the winner of The Register-Guard’s girls Athlete of the Week, as voted on by readers.
Esplin, a junior, clocked 19 minutes, 20.9 seconds over 5,000 meters Sept. 11 to finish fourth at the Country Fair Classic.
Esplin received 40.4% of the reader poll vote. South Eugene soccer player Eva Kato was second (38.4%).

Libby McLaughlin, Marist Catholic soccer
The sophomore had a combined four assists and scored two goals in a 3-1 win over North Marion on Tuesday and 3-1 win over Philomath on Thursday.
Eva Kato, South Eugene soccer
The junior had two assists Thursday in a 2-1 win over Grants Pass.
Kylie Leonard, Creswell soccer
The junior goalkeeper had six saves Wednesday in a 5-1 win over Siuslaw. She has a 0.5 goal allowed per game average this season.
Giana Elgarico, Marist Catholic volleyball
The senior led with 13 kills, 12 digs and two aces Thursday in a three-set win (25-16, 25-8, 25-22) over Philomath.
