University of Oregon opens tours of new Knight Campus Building 2 research hub

EUGENE, Ore. — University of Oregon officials are offering a first look inside a major new addition to the Knight Campus, giving local media tours of the recently completed “Building 2” and its public spaces, including views into multiple research labs.

The building will also house the Center for Biomedical Data Science, a joint venture with the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute. University leaders say the Knight Campus is designed to accelerate scientific impact while providing hands-on training for students and researchers, with a focus on bioengineering.

“We’re really laser focused on getting things out of the lab and into user’s hands as fast possible. This new building provides new space to be able to do that, and to recruit high tier faculty from across the world that are interested in doing the same thing. Moving their products or their discoveries from lab to people who need them the most, whether that’s surgeons, clinicians, every day people, etc.,” said Rachel Bedford with the Knight Campus Communications Office…
