Cottage Grove city leaders won’t point fingers while navigating $4.6M budget blunder

Cottage Grove’s city manager says they’re past pointing fingers in the discovery of a $4.6 million accounting mistake that’s hit the city’s proposed budget with deep cuts.

City Manager Mike Sauerwein said when he started two years ago, the city had a focus on getting up to date on its audits.
