Man hit by car, pistol-whipped in random Eugene attack near Roosevelt

EUGENE, Ore. – Eugene police are searching for a driver who hit a person with his car, then attacked him with a gun near Highway 99 and Roosevelt earlier this month.

The attack happened at 12:30 a.m. on May 2. Police say the driver randomly struck a person, then got out of his car and pistol-whipped the victim. A shot was fired but did not hit the victim.

The driver then left the scene. The victim is in his mid-30s…
