LINN COUNTY, Ore. — Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District crews responded to 15 emergency calls in a 14-hour period during a busy shift on Friday, May 22, 2026, including a structure fire that threatened a nearby home on Airport Road.
The Airport Rd fire was reported at 4:33 p.m. Crews arrived to find a barn in a field with its roof on fire, while residents attempted to spray water onto the roof with a hose. The primary residence was about 100 feet away and in the path of a stiff downwind from the burning barn.
