EWSU to begin last phase of Lloyd Expressway water project

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility will soon enter the final phase of their ongoing waterline project impacting the Lloyd Expressway at St. Joe Avenue.

According to EWSU, it will begin on Monday. Officials say drivers traveling between Barker Avenue and Wabash Avenue should expect changing traffic patterns and delays through July 31 during this phase of work.

Officials say the following road changes will be in affect during the project:

  • Traffic patterns will remain one lane each direction on the north side of the Lloyd Expressway with crossover at Wabash Avenue.
  • Left turns from Lloyd onto southbound and northbound St. Joe Avenue will not be permitted.
  • Southbound St. Joe Avenue will be closed from the Lloyd to Ohio Street.
  • Lane restrictions will continue along the Lloyd Expressway.

“Please slow down in the work zone, watch for crews and allow extra travel time,” says EWSU officials. “We appreciate the community’s patience as this important infrastructure improvement project continues.”
