On alert for storms, flooding

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -A rainy start to the week as several rounds of showers and thunderstorms will track across the Tri-State. We are on alert for a few severe storms and heavy rainfall. Local rainfall of 2-3″ may cause creeks and ditches to rise out of their banks and may also bring street flooding. While an isolated spin-up tornado is possible, our main focus is on damaging wind gusts, hail and heavy rainfall.

Our hottest days of the year so far will arrive by midweek with highs in the lower 90s on Wednesday and Thursday. High humidity will create heat index values in the 100-105 range. You’ll need to take it easy if you are not acclimated to the heat and be sure to drink plenty of water…
