This Kentucky Jail Has Grown More Than 41,000 Pounds of Produce

When most people think about a county jail, a thriving vegetable garden probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind.

But at the Henderson County Detention Center, a unique inmate work program is producing thousands of pounds of fresh produce while teaching valuable life and job skills along the way.

This year’s harvest has already topped an impressive 41,300 pounds.
