EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – Evansville Police Department officials say an Evansville man is in jail facing an animal neglect charge after officials say his dog was found with severe injuries.
According to an affidavit, police responded to a home on Read Street on Thursday, July 30 after reports of an injured pit bull.
Officers say the dog had multiple wounds and signs of infection.
Animal Control officials say the injuries were consistent with prolonged neglect and they say it appears the dog was possibly used as “bait” for animal fighting…
