Evansville weather sirens undergoing scheduled maintenance

EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT) – Evansville residents may notice work being done on a few weather sirens across the city.

The Evansville Vanderburgh County EMA says scheduled weather siren maintenance will be going on. Citizens may see contractors with bucket trucks and a large crane.

The locations and work being done include:

  • Plaza Park School on eastside – Replaced with new unit
  • Division and Weinbach – Replaced with new unit and may also get new pole
  • Lincoln and Green River – New pole and new unit installation complete, waiting for electrical reconnect.

Officials state they found a shortage on telephone poles due to storm damage, and there has been a delay receiving the new poles until last week…
