EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – Before the first bell rang on the first day of school, Henderson County High School seniors were already on the field.
The Class of 2027 gathered Thursday morning at Colonel Stadium for Senior Sunrise — a tradition that marks the start of senior year. Students showed up for breakfast, a coffee truck, and a chance to sign a white graduation gown.
A tradition nearly a decade in the making
Educator Ginger Stovall helped organize the event, which she said is now in its ninth year.
“This is probably our 9th year, and I was kind of thinking about that a little bit because you kind of get in the routine so much, but the seniors look forward to it,” Stovall said…
