Work begins to adapt truck for use by EPD officer injured in shooting

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – An Evansville Police officer who suffered a spinal cord injury in a shooting last year will soon be behind the wheel of an adapted truck donated by a nonprofit and local police organizations.

Officer Sam Taylor received a truck from the JD Sheth Foundation, Evansville Police Foundation and the Evansville Fraternal Order of Police #73 earlier this summer. According to a post from the JD Sheth Foundation, the truck has now officially gone in for adaptive modifications to allow him to safely operate the vehicle.

A post on Facebook says the adaptation process began last week, and is expected to last 4-6 weeks…
