HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — The Henderson Police Department justified the use of Flock Cameras during a board of commissioners meeting on Tuesday.
State lawmaker to introduce Flock Camera limits legislation
Henderson Police Chief Billy Bolin gave a presentation to the commissioners detailing how and why officers use Flock Cameras. This comes as community concern grew over the use of the cameras in Henderson.
Bolin says the cameras do not record video but do take pictures of the back of vehicles. He went on to say that only officers, investigative personnel and dispatchers have access to view the cameras. Bolin says the Flock system has been used by the Henderson Police Department 806 times over the last 30 days.
Commissioner Robert Pruitt was skeptical of the presentation, saying at one point, he wanted the citizens of Henderson to have their own say if they want Flock Cameras. Pruitt also said he believes the cameras are close to infringing on Fourth Amendment rights…
