Coroner identifies Evansville man accused of pursuit that lead to deadly Pike County crash

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Pike County Coroner’s Office has identified the driver who was pronounced dead following a crash during a pursuit with authorities over the weekend. That crash also killed a mother and her 8-year-old daughter.

The coroner’s office says Cory Stevens, 35, of Evansville, was pronounced dead following a crash near County Road 900 East. Authorities say a Pike County deputy was pursuing the vehicle driven by Stevens when he reportedly crossed the center line and hit a minivan being driven by Amanda Wertman. Wertman and her 8-year-old daughter Michaela were both killed in the crash…
