Hacienda welcomes family and friends of Dawnita Wilkerson to “give back fiesta”

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Dawnita Wilkerson’s family and friends gathered at Hacienda on First Avenue to increase reward money in the missing person’s case.

After being seen going into an SUV at a motel, Wilkerson went missing in 2020, but some people

20% of the restaurant’s proceeds during the “give back fiesta” are going into a reward for information in the case.

The family hoped it can raise awareness about the case.

“She has a connection with the rest of the family. Her girls miss her dearly. They’re used to talking to their mom every day, and it’s just hard when you can’t talk to her when you want to. And it’s not because of the reason you would expect,” Dawnita’s aunt — Faye Cardin — said.
