NWS reports 12 tornadoes in the Tri-State area from April 2 storms

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The National Weather Service (NWS) reports that twelve tornadoes were present in the Tri-State area during the storms on April 2. According to NWS, this was the most tornadoes in a single event across its region since Halloween 2013, when there were 19 tornadoes that day. The NWS reports that it has confirmed 7 EF-2, 11 EF-1 and 1 EF-0 tornadoes. NWS officials say the longest path was 14.7 miles with the tornado that crossed from Posey through Vanderburgh and into Warrick counties. The area NWS gave for this was in the area of St. Wendel and Hilldale.
