Semi-truck strikes unoccupied INDOT safety vehicle on I-64

WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — Indiana State Police are investigating a crash involving a semi-truck and an Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) vehicle on Interstate 64 Wednesday morning.

Authorities say a semi-truck collided with an INDOT truck positioned in the right lane of I-64, just east of the I-69 interchange. At the time of the collision, the INDOT truck was equipped with an arrow board and a crash cushion.

The INDOT vehicle was unoccupied when the crash occurred. According to state police, the truck had been stationed in the lane specifically to provide a barrier for highway workers performing maintenance in the area…
