A Rockville woman has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to multiple drug-related charges in Posey County. 42-year-old Tashia Nicole Miniard appeared last Wednesday afternoon in Posey County Circuit Court, where she was given a five-year sentence. Miniard had pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of paraphernalia. Prosecutors also pursued a habitual offender enhancement, citing Miniard’s prior felony convictions. As part of her plea agreement, she admitted to possessing methamphetamine, synthetic marijuana, and a smoking device in Posey County on February 2nd. According to the Posey County Prosecutor’s Office, Miniard’s criminal history includes prior convictions for possession of methamphetamine in 2023 and 2024, failure to return to lawful detention in 2024, and battery by bodily waste in 2013. Court records show the charges stem from a traffic stop for speeding on February 2nd. Authorities say the occupants appeared nervous. Miniard, who was seated in the back, consented to a search of her purse, where deputies found a metal smoking device. A further search of the vehicle reportedly uncovered small amounts of suspected methamphetamine and synthetic marijuana. Miniard was taken into custody without incident. She will now be transported to the Indiana Department of Correction, where she is eligible to participate in a recovery program while incarcerated…
