HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Authorities arrested an Evansville couple following an investigation into the killing of a pit bull that was found hanging from a tree last month.
Authorities say a caller reported finding the pit bull hanging from a tree near Cross Street and South Evans Street on March 28. An affidavit notes the reporter had seen something hanging from the tree a few days prior, but had not reported anything out of fear of retaliation against her or her dog.
According to an affidavit, detectives received tips that Jalisa Brown, 35, had told her coworkers that one of her pit bulls had killed another dog and that she would have the dog put down. When asked by her coworker if she was going to have her dog euthanized, Brown reportedly said that she would have the dog hanged.
Brown also reportedly said that her boyfriend, identified as Dejhaun Jones, 27, and another man had killed the dog, and that an article discussing the investigation was about their dog…
