EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — The Haitian Center held a free event to celebrate Haitian Flag Day.
The event was at the CK Newsome Center and featured cultural performances, music and dancing. With May being Haitian Heritage Month, the public was able to join in celebration among the community.
“It’s special because we want the Evansville community to know about us, as a vibrant culture out here,” says Haitian Center Executive Director Gelina Mascoe. “It’s good to come and learn about the community members that are here and learn about the different cultures, the different food.
