Field Day Memories That Never Leave You
When I was on Facebook yesterday, I saw that the Newburgh Volunteer Fire Department posted that they had their annual spray day at Newburgh Elementary. Basically, they hook up the fire hose and spray the kids down (from a safe distance, of course).
What a cool memory they are making. Can you imagine how much fun that must be for the kids? Hopefully they bring extra clothes, because it would kind of stink to spend the rest of the day soggy.

Field Day in the 1900s
I remember my 1980s field days at Masonville Elementary. It was always hot, Iād always get sunburned, and I always hated the Run for the Roses mile dash. I walked it every year. I also hated the sit-on-the-balloon-and-pop-it game. I knowā¦ they built character.
But I loved the egg-on-a-spoon race, the relay race, and the three legged race. You just had to make sure you got a good partner…
