Cumberland County Schools shifts mean moves for more than 900 students

Two Cumberland County elementary schools have closed for good, but students at Manchester and J.W. Coon elementaries are not the only ones facing changes next school year.

The Cumberland County Board of Education’s votes and recommendations on school consolidations and closures are expected to impact about 918 students by the start of the 2026-27 school year.
