LILLINGTON — American Correctional Association auditors have recommended accreditation for Harnett Correctional Institution following a June inspection, according to the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction.
The facility is the 58th NCDAC operation to be recommended for or awarded ACA accreditation. The department is pursuing accreditation for all of its facilities and operations.
Auditors reported that Harnett Correctional met 100% of mandatory practices and 98.7% of nonmandatory practices during inspections conducted June 15–17. The ACA Commission on Accreditation for Corrections will vote on formal accreditation during its summer conference in Pittsburgh…
