FSU Launches Accelerated Cybersecurity Certification Programs To Meet Growing Demand

Fayetteville State University rolled out two fast-track certification courses through its Center for Defense and Homeland Security. Thousands of IT and cybersecurity jobs sit empty across the nation. These courses give hands-on instruction for civilians and those with military ties who want tech work.

The Center for Defense and Homeland Security started in 2010, according to the Greater Fayetteville Business Journal. Its goal? Prepare the next wave of workers in National Security, Cybersecurity, and Emergency Management through STEM instruction. The Cybersecurity Academy inside CDHS runs these certification courses.

The Certificate in Cyber Foundations runs three times each year. No prior experience needed. Students attend Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday nights from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. for 33 class days.
