Red Springs residents packed Town Hall on Tuesday night, July 7. They wanted answers. Officials faced tough questions after police chief Antoinette Hurtt resigned last month, and the Board of Commissioners held its first meeting since Hurtt left after serving less than six months in the position.

Hurtt resigned in June. She said town manager Shanelle Harris had too much control over the police department and shut down her podcast, per ABC 15. While serving as chief, Hurtt launched a podcast to keep residents informed about public safety issues and what was happening in town government.
