I call it a case of government working but could have worked better.
I was at a public hearing July 14 for a rezoning case for SteelFab, a steel beam design and fabrication company with a Fayetteville location on Country Club Drive, near Murchison Road. The five members of the all-volunteer Zoning Commission were considering whether to allow the company to rezone 120+ acres from “light industrial” and “conservation district” to “heavy industrial.”
Neighbors concerned about the expansion of industrial operations near their homes filled the small Lafayette Conference Room, located across the lobby in City Hall from the City Council chambers.
