A Fayetteville man died early Tuesday, Aug. 4, after crashing into a downtown roundabout shortly after police activated lights and siren behind his vehicle stopped at a green light, officials said.
The driver, identified as 43-year-old Jermaine Abdul Bean of Fayetteville, died as a result of the single-vehicle crash that happened around 3:45 a.m., a Fayetteville Police Department news release said.
According to police, officers noticed Bean’s vehicle stopped in traffic on Person Street. When the vehicle didn’t move after the light turned green, officers activated their emergency lights to conduct a welfare check, the release said…
