Three former detention officers in Harnett County are facing charges following an investigation into alleged excessive use of force at the county detention center.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation launched the investigation on January 2, 2026, at the request of the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office. The alleged incidents took place on December 27 and December 30, 2025.
