Woman Faces Charges After Incident With First Responders

BENSON, N.C. — A routine emergency medical response in Benson turned violent, leading to the arrest of a local woman on multiple charges, according to authorities.

Johnston County EMS and Johnston County deputies were called to a residence on May 2 after a neighbor reported finding a woman outside the home, unclothed, lying face down and screaming.

When EMS personnel began evaluating the woman, identified as 52-year-old Rebecca Jean Mota of Allen’s Crossroads Road, she allegedly kicked a responder during the assessment.

Law enforcement detained Mota at the scene, and she was transported by Johnston County EMS to a hospital for evaluation before being released into custody…
