Bomb threat at Union Pines High School prompts evacuation, campus search

A written bomb threat discovered on a bathroom wall at Union Pines High School prompted a large evacuation Wednesday afternoon as authorities searched the campus.

According to the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, a student reported seeing the threat written inside a school bathroom.

The sheriff’s office said all students and staff were evacuated “in accordance with established procedures” while authorities conducted a full search of the campus.

“All students and staff will remain in their designated, safe areas until further notice,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement released during the incident…
