Cumberland County commissioners voted 5-1 on Monday to hire T.A. Loving of Goldsboro and Metcon of Pembroke to renovate the Crown Arena and Crown Theatre. This happened 11 months after the board canceled a $145 million downtown replacement project.
The final price hasn’t been set yet. Commissioners will work with the firms and SfL+a Architects to figure out what needs to be done before they settle on a guaranteed maximum price.
