The On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina on Glensford Drive in Fayetteville has abruptly closed after more than 25 years in business.
State alcohol permit records show the restaurant at 115 Glensford Drive first received permits on Oct. 26, 1998, under Brinker North Carolina Inc., the former corporate operator of the chain. Houston-based Pappas Restaurants acquired the chain out of bankruptcy in 2025. The company operates restaurants across Texas and several Southern states, including locations in Georgia and Alabama.
Multiple customer posts on social media indicate the Fayetteville restaurant’s last day in business was Friday, May 13. The corporate office has not responded to a request for comment and has not publicly announced a reason for the Fayetteville closure…
