RED SPRINGS — Red Springs High School student Christopher Furchis will be hosting a cancer awareness run next January.
Furchis, who now weighs just under 200 pounds, was nearly 400 pounds just four years ago. He struggled with depression and motivation before finding his inspiration to start exercising.
“God spoke to me in a dream,” Furchis said, “and really woke my mind up. It was nothing but pitch black, and in this dream, I’m just sitting there before I suddenly wake up. I feel like it was God’s way of telling me to live.”…
