Elderly Woman Knocked to Ground During Queens Store Dispute as NYPD Searches for Suspect

Queens, NY — An 81-year-old woman suffered injuries after another shopper allegedly shoved a shopping cart into her inside a Jamaica retail store, knocking her to the ground during a dispute at the checkout line, according to the NYPD.

The incident happened around 9:05 a.m. Saturday, May 16, inside a commercial establishment at 166-10 Archer Avenue, police said. Investigators say the elderly victim became involved in a verbal dispute with an unidentified individual while waiting to pay for merchandise before the encounter turned physical.

According to the NYPD Crimestoppers unit, the suspect intentionally pushed a shopping cart backward into the woman, causing her to fall onto the floor inside the store.
