ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE)— Members of the group “No Quarry on Homestead” are preparing for a presentation against a proposed quarry at a public hearing on Tuesday.
Tuesday’s public hearing, which will be at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum from 5:30-8:30 p.m., is being held jointly by the Allen County Board of Zoning Appeals and Plan Commission.
Due to the expected high attendance, special rules of procedure have been approved by both bodies holding the hearing. The petitioner, US Aggregates, a subsidiary of the Heritage Group, will be given 15 minutes to make a presentation. Those presenting for the “No Quarry on Homestead” movement will be given 5 minutes.
