We can look forward to another day with above average temperatures Tuesday. Afternoon temperatures may be within a few degrees of record highs. Those records are just in the low-90s this time of year, and there may be some 90 degree highs on the map Tuesday afternoon.
There are a couple minor waves offering up the potential of some isolated shower and thunderstorm activity. A decaying batch of showers will be moving into southeast Minnesota and far north Iowa from the west Tuesday morning. These showers will be falling apart fairly quickly, but we may get a quick shot of light rain from them.
Another round of isolated to scattered thunderstorms will develop Tuesday evening to early Wednesday morning across southern Minnesota and north Iowa. How widespread they end up being is highly uncertain, but any downpours will produce a good drink of rain.
A weak cold front will push in from the northeast late Wednesday bringing slightly drier air with it. As it passes through, a few more showers and thunderstorms are possible…
