ADAIR COUNTY, Iowa — On Memorial Day, people across central Iowa honored those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
In Adair County, set against the backdrop of towering windmills and a busy highway, artist Ray “Bubba” Sorenson unveiled the 2026 version of the original Freedom Rock. It marks the 28th year he has taken the time to paint it.
