PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A woman has been indicted after a crash that killed her 9-year-old daughter, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office announced Monday.
Brenda Rivera Estrada, 30, crashed her SUV near Interstate 17 and Cactus Road on April 12 while under the influence of marijuana and methamphetamine, prosecutors said. Her daughter was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.
Troopers with the Department of Public Safety suspected Estrada was under the influence, and about a month later, toxicology results confirmed she had marijuana and meth in her system, prosecutors said.
