Thousands without power in South Carolina

SOUTH CAROLINA — Nearly 3,000 customers across South Carolina are without electricity as of Tuesday morning, according to outage data from PowerOutage.us.

The outage tracking website reported 2,977 homes and businesses without power statewide out of more than 3 million customers being monitored. South Carolina currently ranks seventh in the nation for the total number of outages and sixth for the percentage of customers affected.

Laurens County reported the highest number of outages with 1,129 customers without power. Calhoun County followed with 553 outages, while Richland County reported 250 customers affected.
