SCITUATE, R.I. (WPRI) — A Scituate home is severely damaged after a fire caused portions of the house to collapse.
Firefighters were called to the scene on Talbut Road off of Howard Avenue early Tuesday morning.
Hope Jackson Fire Department Assistant Chief John Chevalier told 12 News that crews were met with heavy fire conditions on every floor of the home when they first arrived at the scene.

“We can’t go in because of structural conditions,” Chevalier explained. “We can’t get inside the building to fully extinguish it, so we’re having to do it from the outside. We’ve had partial collapses of the building.”…
