BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — On Memorial Day, communities across the commonwealth paused to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country, and in Bedford, the remembrance carried a particularly powerful meaning.
The town was home to the Bedford Boys, 20 men who lost their lives on D-Day. Nine of the Bedford Boys are buried at Greenwood Cemetery, where people gathered Monday to pay their respects to the young men who died during World War II.
