Family wants answers in deadly shooting; police union defends officer: I-Team

CLEVELAND (WJW) – The Fox 8 I-Team is working to uncover more about a deadly shooting involving an off-duty Cleveland police officer who has been placed on unpaid leave.

A family member of 26-year-old Akili Hammond, the man who was shot and killed, say they believe he was murdered and want a full investigation.

Cleveland Police Patrolmen Association President Andrew Gasiewsk, however, is defending the officer, who was not working at the time of the shooting.
