Dallas police officers responded to a case involving a body found on Georgia Avenue in East Oak Cliff. The 27-year-old woman’s body was discovered stuffed inside the freezer of an abandoned home — and while police were still investigating the scene for answers, the property caught fire later that same day.
There is still a lot of mystery surrounding the case. Investigators are not yet comfortable revealing what caused the blaze or even whether foul play was involved. The woman in question, Mariah Murray, is now being described by people who knew her as a “good spirit,” while others acknowledged that she struggled with many issues — but one thing they all agree on is that nobody deserves what Murray went through.
A key aspect of this case now is what ended up causing the fire. There’s a good chance that when investigators finally get into the weeds of why Murray was in the freezer in the first place, the destroyed crime scene will deeply affect how much evidence police are able to recover.
