Pedestrian unlikely to survive after Elk Grove crash; suspect arrested

ELK GROVE, Calif. — A 35-year-old man was arrested after a hit-and-run crash in Elk Grove left a pedestrian with life-threatening injuries Saturday night, police said.

According to the Elk Grove Police Department, officers responded around 8:45 p.m. on May 23 to Elk Grove Florin Road, north of Heritage Hill Drive, after a vehicle hit a pedestrian. Bystanders stayed with the victim, a 47-year-old Elk Grove man, who was found lying in the northbound lanes.

Fire personnel took the man to a local hospital, however medical staff said he is not expected to survive his injuries, according to police…
