Tulsa firefighters responded to a duplex fire near 71st and Memorial

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa firefighters responded to a duplex fire near 71st and Memorial early Tuesday morning after flames broke out in the downstairs kitchen area.

Crews with the Tulsa Fire Department were called to the scene around 7:30 a.m. Firefighters arrived quickly and found flames coming from the kitchen area of the duplex. Crews brought the fire under control and confirmed no one was inside the home.

Fire believed to have started in kitchen

Firefighters said the fire may have started while cooking in the downstairs kitchen area. Investigators remained at the scene Tuesday morning, working to determine the exact cause of the fire.

Officials said quick action from neighbors and firefighters helped keep the fire from spreading further through the duplex.
