WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — D.C. lawmakers are considering updates to the District’s oversight of ride-hailing services following controversy surrounding the company Empower.
Council members said the transportation industry has evolved rapidly, while regulations have struggled to keep pace.
The Committee on Public Works and Operations, led by Councilmember Brianne Nadeau, held a roundtable discussion to gather input from drivers, passengers and ride-booking companies on the future of the for-hire vehicle industry.
