Motorists are being asked to avoid a portion of a Catasauqua road as crews work to repair a sinkhole.
Borough officials posted on Facebook Tuesday evening that the sinkhole opened up along Race Street. The road currently is down to a single lane — between 10th and 14th streets — as crews prepare to repair the sinkhole Wednesday morning.
However, borough officials said Race Street could be shut down completely if conditions require additional room for crews to work safely. Detour signs and equipment will be made available if a full closure becomes necessary, officials said…
