FORT WAYNE, IND. (WOWO) The Allen County Board of Zoning Appeals voted Tuesday night to reject a special-use proposal connected to a planned quarry and industrial park development in southwest Allen County following a public meeting that drew more than 1,000 attendees.

The proposal was submitted by US Aggregates, a subsidiary of the Heritage Group, for property located at 7907 Homestead Road. The request was one of several proposals connected to a larger development plan involving more than 800 acres between Homestead and Yohne roads.

Board denies special-use request

The Allen County Board of Zoning Appeals voted against granting the special-use variance during the meeting held at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum Conference Center.
