JSO: Man turns himself in nearly 2 years after woman killed in Christmas Day shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is behind bars after Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office detectives said he turned himself in Tuesday for the shooting death of a woman on Christmas Day 2024.

Detectives arrested 47-year-old Thomas Banks Tuesday morning after they said he turned himself in for the murder of 39-year-old Lisa Santos.

On December 25, 2024, JSO officers responded to an apartment complex on Dunn Avenue. They found Santos with a gunshot wound to her chest. She died before she could be taken to a hospital…
